| our Christmas pictures...
our Christmas letter. (some of them are still in the mail. sorry they're late.) Dear friends, December ‘08 Once again this year has brought a lot of change. We started the year with the exciting news the Father would be blessing us with a son. We then received the news that the Doctors had done all they could do for mom’s cancer. Our hearts were deeply saddened, but over the next couple months our focus shifted from what medicine could do to what the Lord wanted to do. Mom went home to be with our Savior in April. One of our greatest comforts during that time was picturing our sweet Caroline running to embrace her Grandmom and then leading her to the feet of our great God where they would worship together! His ways and plans are not our own, but we know that they are always better. Our family has evidently learned to rely on the Lord more and more through all our sorrow and we have found joy in the peace of God that is truly beyond our understanding. Michael continued in ministry at the Church and my belly continued to grow. Our home has been a continual project. A year after moving in, some money and a whole lot of patience later our house is just about done! The Lord led us to invite a young couple and their 9 month old daughter to live in our upstairs as they pay off student loans. We are enjoying their company and rejoicing that the Lord has given us a way to use our home for His glory. Our little Jude was due on Thanksgiving of this year, a very fitting due date, but he (like his older sister) decided to make us wait a few days. He arrived on December 1st at 9:24am! A healthy, beautiful baby boy, 10lbs 1oz, 22 ¼ inches long. We are blessed beyond what we could’ve ever dreamed! We pray all is well with your family! Enjoy the holidays and as this year comes to an end may the Lord prepare you for ALL He has in store next year. Cling to Him alone! He is our only good, our only aim. The Barkers Michael, Allison, & Jude
